Our Africa: an amazing collection of videos by African children across the continent showing their lives and countries. Children from the SOS Children’s Villages are being trained to use small flip cameras to make their own films and tell their own stories.
Dominique Chadwick worked on this SOS project as a filmmaker and trainer in the following countries; Burkina Faso, Mali, Rwanda, Uganda, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Cameroon.
The Our Africa project won the 2012 New Media award from the One World Media Trust. The One World Media Trust rewards the most outstanding media coverage of the developing world, and, recognises the unique role of journalists and filmmakers in bridging the divide between different societies and raising awareness of vital development issues.
